| EXPERIENCE | PLAN |
The Olympic Peninsula is a place surrounded by unsurpassed beauty. Its unique landscape, wildlife, and people are unlike any other place found in the world. For fifteen thousand years our ancestors cared for the tidelands and rivers, rainforests and mountain meadows― and in return, nature provided what was needed. Cedar was used to build longhouses and canoes, its bark used for cloths and baskets. Whalebones were made into tools and the blubber used for fuel. The rivers were full with salmon and the forests thick with berries, roots, and elk. Today, we continue to respect and care for this land, for our people, for visitors, and for all generations to come. We ask that you remember to do the same. |
