Lower Elwha Klallam..."Strong People"

Clallam County

The Lower Elwha Klallam are the original inhabitance of the Elwha Watershed. The Village is found near the Lower Elwha River Valley of the Olympic Peninsula, eight miles west of Port Angeles - once a site of a thriving Klallam village. Elwha people continue to rely on local coast waters and rivers for subsistence and ceremonial purposes.

Visit the Elwha Tribal Hatchery (360.452.4012) and learn about historic fishing grounds and the on-going effort to restore runs.
